Getting to the Etihad Stadium for Oasis

The simplest route to the Etihad Stadium is the Metrolink tram to Etihad Campus, around 10 minutes from Piccadilly, or a 30 to 35 minute walk from the city centre along Ashton New Road. Parking near the stadium is limited and must usually be booked in advance.

  1. Metrolink to Etihad CampusRecommended

Trams on the Ashton line run from Piccadilly and the city centre to Etihad Campus in about 10 minutes. Extra trams usually run on event days, but queues after the show can be long.

  2. Walk from the city centre

From Piccadilly or the Northern Quarter it is a flat 30 to 35 minute walk east via Great Ancoats Street and Ashton New Road. Often the fastest way back after the encore.

  3. Metrolink to Velopark

One stop further east than Etihad Campus. Walking back to Velopark after the show can mean a much shorter tram queue.

  4. City buses along Ashton Old and New Roads

Regular buses run between Piccadilly Gardens and east Manchester, with diversions around the stadium on event days.

  5. Taxi and rideshare

Designated pick-up and drop-off points are set away from the stadium on show days. Expect surge pricing and long waits straight after the gig.

Flying in: Manchester Airport (MAN)

Manchester Airport is about 16 km from the Etihad Stadium. Frequent trains run from the airport to Manchester Piccadilly in around 15 to 20 minutes. From Piccadilly, take the tram east to Etihad Campus or walk out along Ashton New Road.

Driving and parking

Roads around the Etihad Campus close or become very congested before and after shows, and nearby residential streets are permit-only. If you drive, book official event parking in advance or park in the city centre and take the tram.

Getting home after the show

Tram queues at Etihad Campus can take an hour to clear. Walking back into town takes about 30 minutes, and most of the crowd heads for the Northern Quarter. Check the last trains from Piccadilly and Victoria if you are heading out of Manchester.
